Boring title because really, who has inspiration to blog at 11am? Actually, come to think about it, the most uninspiring hours should be around 2-3pm, which coincides with a lot of people's downtime I would imagine.
Breakdown of a typical day at work:
6-9am: Bleh getting up, travelling to work.. never fun.
9-11am: still trying to wake up and struggling to get into the roll of things for work.
Past 11-12:30pm: so close to lunch time. Stomachs start to rumble, motivation to work heightens due to impending break.
12:30-1pm: Lunch!!
Around 1:30pm: Work extra hard. Energy gained from lunch depleted...
2-3pm: Just. Want. To. Go. Home. Already. Need a nap.
4-5pm: so close to home time. Pack up and think about dinner.
That doesn't work on your days off though. Days off, you'll just hate on everything and everybody that wakes you up before 1pm. Like today. Anyway! Melbourne.. here we go. Will be going through this trip super quick hopefully. It was a long drive to Melbourne from Sydney.

4am
Started off at Eastwood and we stopped by a Maccas on the way, (B turned into some storage warehouse place and missed the first one), grabbed a coffee and toastie before hitting the road again.
8am
First proper stop was meant to be at Milton, but it was way too early and everything was closed, so we headed to Flanagan's Cafe: shop 4/ 51 Vulcan Street, Moruya. Tried to order a bacon and cheese pie, but it was all sold out. Hot seller, that one.

Road trip going well. Yep, these were taken from inside a car, thus the reflections, but Stanley did a beautiful job this trip, taking photos like a man. Too bad though, he is still broken and he still dislikes dim lighting a lot.

12:30pm
Times are all estimates. We stopped for a quick bite of lunch at a random village called Pambula. Only decent place opened was a milk bar, so it was a simple affair of sandwiches and hotdog. We are off the plan at the moment because our next stop was supposed to be a cafe at Bainsdale. It was closed. And yes, we wrote up an awesome plan. You'll see why it's awesome as we progress.
7:30pm
Arrived at Lygon St, Melbourne. Checked in. Chucked bags. Dinner!

8pm
Here we are! Just down the road from the hotel at Lygon Street- a place bustling with night life. We are back on track with the plan.

This kopitiam has been around for ages and it shows in their food. Service was a bit lacking and our order was messed up. They gave us two nasi lemak instead of the roti, which we realised only after picking at the ikan bilis and peanuts of the wrong dish... but they took it back. When the roti arrived, it was soft, fluffy, hot... definitely worth ordering. Their chicken rice came with the spiciest chilli sauce I've ever had, and their rojak was exactly what it's meant to be. I would have wanted to visit this place again just to try their breakfast items (kaya toast and kopi anyone?)

7am
The one and only photo of people on this blog post. Melbourne is full of these cute little lanes that are often artistically decorated with graffiti. It was at 8 Rankins Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000 where we met Manchester Press, and it was love at first sight.

We weren't the only ones. Waiting in line outside the painted roller doors, couples and families poured into the bucolic cafe when it opened. Within minutes, the place was bustling and we were in a happy place with our morning coffees. Bonus latte art of an Easter bunny, which the waitress said was supposed to be something like Miffy. Got the mouth totally wrong if it's Miffy but still cute~

And the food? Doesn't disappoint. It's Melbourne- I can honestly say not one meal in Melbourne was a disappointment. Bagels! The open bagel: Chorizo, cheese, capsicum, tomato relish was super good, but you really can't miss out on the pulled pork and coleslaw, which was simply melt-in-your-mouth divine. You really need to go as a crowd to share though, or go many times, because the whole menu is probably worth checking out.

10ish am
ACMI changed their exhibition to Dreamworks Animation. Really worth checking out. Been pretty lucky so far in terms of exhibitions, previously I came for the Tim Burton one (that man is a genius), then the James Bond one at the other museum, and this time? Dreamworks. Can't say I've watched many Dreamworks films, but it was very interesting nonetheless.

And unlike the other two exhibitions from previous experiences, this one was photo-friendly!

Really need to watch some of their films now.
Ohhh lunch time! Break~ after all the wonderful food and coffee in Melbourne, I've been making and eating egg sandwiches at home. Simple but still nice.
